Flavor is the joint idea of Belgian chef Erik Vranckx and his Thai partner, Kate Nadee.
Erik started working as an apprentice in the kitchen aged just sixteen, and worked his way up to being head chef in many different top-class kitchens, covering the culinary territory from catering to Michelin starred restaurants. He was lucky, and is grateful, to the many great teachers he found along the way.
Erik always felt most at home in small restaurants where everything was freshly made by the chefs who open-mindedly absorbed culinary influences from around the globe, whilst still respecting traditional techniques and know-how.
Flavor is exactly that.
Just sixteen seats, an easy-going atmosphere and a menu that's thoughtfully tailored, using locally sourced produce with an eye for wholesome organic options. Of course the freshest local ingredients are always supplemented by regular weekly supplies of fresh Australian tenderloin, Scottish salmon, New Zealand lamb and similar.
